Course Aim

This programme is designed to give learners a understanding and knowledge of what the term "Health + Safety " means and how the legalisation and regulations impact on providing safety in the workplace. This programme will clearly define the roles of the, Employer, Employee, Health + Safety Authority, Fire Services, Police, Insurance cover and claims. This course can be run as a night time course or day course. This program leads to a QQI. level. 4, 4N1124 Minor award. The Workplace Safety Course is broken down into 14 specific learning outcomes covering all aspects of Workplace Safety i.e.

Assessments: 100% (Portfolio of work) covering the following areas:

Hazards in the Workplace, Manual Handling, Personnel Protective Equipment, Smoke Alarms, Emergency and Evacuation Procedures, Legislation and Regulations, Fire safety Equipment

Assessment marking as follows: Pass (50 - 64) Merit (64 - 79) Distinction (80 - 100)

Course Certification

On successful completion and passing the course each learner will receive a provisional statement of results and in due course their QQI (Quality Qualifications Ireland) certificate

Course duration

This course can be delivered one day a week over four weeks (can include Saturdays) or alternatively as a evening course two nights a weeks over four nights
